Toast to Fashion @ Belle Haven Country Club

I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend and fellow Photographer Lora to a Fashion Show & charity event hosted by The Junior Friends of The Campagna Center & Britt McHenry from WJLA/ABC 7 was the emcee. This was my first time ever photographing this type of event. I had a fun time & I would be happy to do it again.

Well here are a series of storyboards/collages from the event. I figured it would be easier than uploading 50+ pictures.

Until next time.................:D

Angela & Kim @ Bellacara did a wonderful job on all the models makeup. I walked past them half a dozen times & each time there was a new person in the seat getting a makeover.

Night Shots & its FRIDAY !!

I am finally done with sorting my night shots of DC from last weekend. Now I am in the process of sorting photo's from last nights Fashion Show. I will give more details when I am ready to post those shots. Thank God it is Friday. This week has gone by super fast.
Until next time...............:D

In this photo (below) my daughter's shadow on the wall was making a heart shape. I couldn't help but color it in :)

National Cathedral

Well I am almost done with my weekend photo edits. I am now done with photos from my National Cathedral visit. I wish I had more time to spend inside, of course as luck has it, the day I decide to go, they were having a private concert event & the Cathedral was closing an hour early. Just my luck, right? Well at least I was able to get some good shots, I may have to make another visit in the near future. Here are some that I captured that day :)
Until next time................................:D

National Harbor

I had a very busy weekend & boy did it fly by. I was constantly on the go & took hundreds of photos. Here is a brief description of how it went.
On Friday night, my daughter and I, went downtown Washington, DC and I shot some of the memorials. On Saturday afternoon I went back to Washington, DC & visited the National Cathedral. And finally, on Sunday I met up with my friend Lora & her son and we spent the afternoon shooting at National Harbor in Maryland. Talk about hours of sorting and editing, whew !!
So needless to say I have been up to my eyeballs these last few days with working and coming home at night to sort through all the pictures.  Well I am finally done with the set from Sunday. Here are a few images..

The Harbor has this statue called "The Awakening" & the boys had so much fun climbing it.

Here's a waterfront shot, I loved the reflections on the water

Some artwork & the huge flag

Oh, I totally forgot that on the way home from the Harbor we drove through the streets of Old Town Alexandria & I was able to get some shots of the Masonic Temple. I decided to process these as HDR's since the clouds were so awesome looking..

Fix it Friday #91 at iheartfaces

So I decided to participate with iheartfaces & their "fix it Friday"

Here is the original image

And after post processing & cropping it down, here is my edited version.

It was neat to see everyone's different edits. I think I may have to participate more often :)

Old Town Alex (pt 2)

Ok, I am finally done editing my remaining pictures. Instead of posting a series of shots I decided to do a couple of storyboards. One of them is from a horse stable that we visited on our way back home.

For now, I am done. Until next time........................:D

Old Town Alexandria

Hey all !
It's been awhile since I posted something on here. This is why I have not tried the 365 day project. Although it seems that I do take a photo every other day, I am not disciplined enough to post one each day.
I recently tested out the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 while strolling the streets of Old Town Alexandria, VA this past weekend. It is a nice lens & a tad bit heavy but definitely manageable. Ok I really like this lens ALOT, but I am not quite ready to part ways with approximately $2,000. Maybe in the near future (crossing my fingers).

Here are some shots I took. I still have a bunch more on the memory card that I have not taken off. More to come soon............... :D

And last but not least, a cute little dog named Sammie. He is part Shitzu & King Charles Spaniel. His owner was walking him & was kind enough to allow me to photograph him.
